Постоянный представитель РФ при ООН Виталий Чуркин во время выступления в Совбезе, говоря о выходе украинских военных из Дебальцево, произнес: «Мы предлагали им спокойно выйти (из Дебальцево)». Поняв оговорку Чуркин, не подав виду, тут же исправляется на «ополченцы предлагали им выйти». Своей оговоркой он подтвердил, что Россия является стороной конфликта на Востоке Украины.
